Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you use the King of the Hill experience at live.kylebeats.com (the “Service”), why we collect it, and what you can do about it. The Service is operated by Kyle Beats (“we”, “us”).
1. What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify your submission, contact you about it, and send occasional updates about future sessions. |
| Artist name and any message you write | Displayed on screen and on the live stream with your song. |
| Your song — a Spotify/SoundCloud link, or an uploaded audio file | To play it during the session. |
| A random device ID stored in your browser | To keep track of your submissions and make sure voting is one-per-person. It is not linked to your real identity. |
| Votes you cast | To tally results and prevent duplicate voting. |
| Account details (email, password) if you choose to create one | So you can log back in and track your submissions. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider — we never see them. |
| Your Instagram handle, only if you buy “Stay on my radar” | So we know which account to follow after the session. We do not post as you, read your messages, or connect to your Instagram account — we only follow the handle you give us. |
| Payment details | Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive only the amount, the tier purchased, and confirmation that payment succeeded. |
| Basic technical data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) | Standard server logs, used for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the Service running. |
We do not collect your precise location, and we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking pixels on the Service.
2. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the Service work:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase — database, file storage, and login.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email list, if email updates are enabled.
- Spotify and SoundCloud — when a submitted link is looked up or played, requests go to those services under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
3. What is shown publicly
Your artist name, song title, artwork, and message are shown to everyone watching, appear on the live stream, and may be recorded, clipped, replayed, and shared on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, and Instagram. Treat anything you submit as public and permanent. Your email address is never shown publicly.
4. Email and marketing
We use your email to contact you about your submission and to send occasional updates about upcoming sessions. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Unsubscribing does not affect messages about a purchase you have made.
5. How long we keep it
- Uploaded audio files are deleted when the session ends. The one exception: if you bought a follow-up review, your file is kept for up to 7 days afterwards so the review can be written, then deleted.
- While a session is running, an uploaded file is served from a public link so it can be played in the browser. Treat an upload as shareable rather than confidential.
- Submission records (artist name, song title, email) and results are kept so that leaderboards and history work.
- Payment records are retained by Stripe and by us as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- You can ask us to delete your information — see below.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage for a random device ID, your sound-effect preference, and (if you log in) your session. These are needed for the Service to work. We do not use advertising cookies. Clearing your browser storage will reset your device ID and log you out.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR (UK/EU) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) — you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information (“right to be forgotten”).
- Opt out of marketing email.
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, contact us at kylebeats.com/pages/contact. We may need to verify your identity — usually by confirming the email address used to submit — before we act.
8. International users
We operate from the United States, and our providers store data in the United States and elsewhere. If you use the Service from outside the US, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Purchases require you to be 18 or older. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), a managed database with access controls, and a PCI-compliant payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above will change, and significant changes will be reflected here.
